Past Boxing Picks

This is a monthly archive of my past boxing picks dating back to the beginning of 2006. If you are new to this site, this will give you a good idea of what to expect from future boxing picks. I may change the format from time to time, depending upon how much information I have on each fighter, and to improve readability for our members. The boxing picks in this archive are not edited; they are printed just as I originally wrote them (although I may add a post script to some of them). And, of course, not all of them were winners. So you’ll see the good boxing picks along with the bad ones. I hope you enjoy reading them. I certainly had fun writing them!

We had a solid, overall winning weekend riding the wave of 2 underdog plays in Glasgow, Scotland on Saturday.

Stephen Smith was able to nip tough John Simpson and brave 4-1 underdog Ricky Burns was able to shock Roman Martinez in a grueling see saw battle. Great win for Burns, copping the WBO super featherweight crown in the process.

New picks coming later in the week with an interesting schedule of bouts to review.

Smith catches up with Crawford, stops him in the 9th
Antwone Smith scored a 9th round stoppage over previously undefeated Henry Crawford on Showtime Friday night at the First Council Casino, Newkirk, Oklahoma. Smith was only a slight favorite to win and I know many thought Crawford had a very good chance to win. I picked Smith, believing he'd he too busy and consistent for Crawford.
