Here’s the wake-up call that started this web site:

Twenty years ago I sat at ringside in a cold sweat as the referee counted. I had put $19,000 on a boxer because he was the favorite and I liked him. It was all the money I had, and I was scared. I watched in disbelief as the referee reached the count of ten, and my cash reached the count of zero. I had just lost every cent!

It was a costly lesson that started me on a journey...

I vowed I would never lose like that again. I decided to develop a system for betting on boxing - a system to protect me from myself, to take the emotion and the risk out of wagering, and to use the sport I love as a sensible investment program. This web site and my Track Record are the result of that twenty-year quest.

After taking it on the chin, I went to work!

I decided to learn as much or more about the sport of boxing than anyone in the world. I hung around the gyms, I studied the record books. I attended every fight I could, watched, recorded, and studied virtually thousands of televised fights, I even managed a promising young middleweight fighter for a while, and promoted several fight cards.

"Because my brother was Rocky Marciano, I've been around the fight game all my life. I would put Evan Young up against the best fight handicappers in the country.” - Peter Marciano, Brockton, MA

Soon I began to see clearly the key factors that determine the outcome of every fight, like age, weight, conditioning, reach, speed, power, style, chin, spirit, opponents, to name a few - even the location of the fight and the bias of the judges. Before long, I became adept at picking winners consistently. But I soon learned a harsh lesson:

Just Being Able to Pick Winners Is NOT Enough!

Friends, any idiot can pick a high percentage of boxing winners: just bet on the odds-makers' favorites every time. But if you do this, you will not make money, because when you win you win small, and when you lose you lose big. Boxing Forecast turns that around.

The secret is recognizing the fighters who are underrated or overlooked by the odds-makers. Of the dozens of fights every week, there are always a few. Recognizing undervalued fighters allows you to bet small amounts to make big gains. See my Risk Management Betting System. And if you lose it doesn't matter, because you have risked so little.

But there's more to the secret - you must understand the odds!

In order to find value, you have to know more than who the winner will be, you have to see how the odds-makers view the fight - and you must be able to recognize it when they get it wrong! You also have to evaluate the various betting opportunities or “propositions” for each fight - for example, whether a win will be a decision or KO, or whether the fight will end before or after a certain number of rounds. Each proposition carries its own odds and may represent a bet that is safer or more profitable than a straight bet.

You can do this as well as I do. All you need is a lifetime love of boxing, decades of wagering experience, and a willingness to live, eat, and breathe boxing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

There’s hard work behind the secrets I’m sharing

And, believe me, it's a ton of work! Every week I check out all the fights to be held around the world. I dig tirelessly through the boxers' records to find the vital factors that will determine the outcome. Then I check the bookmaking sites to find the best odds and proposition bets to decide which bouts will give you best chance of making money - without risking your neck!

Finally, I prepare an analysis of the most promising fights - not just a win-or-lose pick - but a complete, detailed explanation of the reasoning behind my choice - and I post it on my web site for members only . Finally I send you an email to let you know the pick is ready, so you can log in and get the answers to these three important questions:

  1. Which fights should you bet on?

There are many boxing matches in many countries every week - most with fighters you have never heard of. I study them, and pick out the two, three, or four fights where the odds-makers have it wrong - underrated underdogs and even some favorites where the odds look good. They're hard to find, but when I do, you can win great returns.

"Hi Evan, Just a quick note to let you know that I think your web site is terrific. Your knowledge of boxing becomes more amazing each week. I especially enjoy the weekend wrap up. On behalf of myself and my bank account, many thanks. Keep those winning picks coming” - Jean T. - Massachusetts
  2. How should you bet the fight?

There's more to smart betting than just picking the winner. I'll alert you if I see value in a proposition bet, and tell you exactly how to place it. At times I may even recommend betting both sides of a fight, but with a different proposition on each side, to hedge your bet and reduce your risk.

  3. How much should you risk?

I'll tell you how much of your betting fund you should risk on each fight. It will be the same percentage I use to calculate my own hypothetical Track Record. See my Risk Management Betting System. Follow my advice, and you can expect your fund to have no major losses, and to grow steadily month after month.
